If you use Microsoft Outlook as your email program than you will need to take the following steps in order to migrate to PClinuxOS. These steps are to install Mozilla Thunderbird and import your emails from outlook into this new program. The reason for this is that it will make it simpler to migrate your email and addresses because Thunderbird can be used in both Windows and PClinuxOS. 

1. download thunderbird from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/







2. install thunderbird

- Welcome to the Mozilla Thunderbird Setup Wizard
- accept the agreement
- choose standard installment (easiest)



3. ensure the 'Launch Mozilla Thunderbird Now option is selected and click Finish

4. If this is the first time you are installling Thunderbird on your Windows XP system than the 'Import Settings and Mail Folders From' dialouge box will appear. Choose 'Outlook' from the list of items to import from. This allows us to have all our emails and addresses imported from Outlook into our newly installed Thunderbird program.



5. The import wizard will begin and a last window will appear telling you completed and Thunderbird will open. It will than ask you if you would like Thunderbird to be the default email application to use. Ensure that the email option is selected and remove the 'Always perform this check when starting Thunderbird' option and click OK.



You can now view your receive and view your emails in Thunderbird.
